And our sauce
So Saap means so delicious, so yummy. “Saap” is Lao for delicious, and “so” is English - like the sauce itself, it’s a modern mixture of cultures and flavors, representative of a new generation of southeast asian Americans who’ve grown up in the United States.
So Saap was started by founder Khiet Vandy in 2018 in Kent, Washington. Inspired by his roots and his love for the Lao staple papaya salad, and driven to introduce the world to his modern take on the irresistible flavors, Khiet spent years with the help of his family perfecting a sauce that makes whipping together a delicious papaya salad simple, but that can also pack the flavor for all kinds of southeast asian recipes and beyond.
From papaya salad to Larb, to Thai Yum to marinating steak, and even in spaghetti sauce (to kick it up a notch), So Saap sauce hits the spot. Since their launch, So Saap has been growing like crazy and now can be found in over 69 stores and counting across the country.
With new sauces on their way and a vision to bring southeast asian communities together while also welcoming everyone to the banging flavors of Southeast Asia, So Saap is far from done yet. Stay tuned.
